Hey Friends, I’m a multi-award-winning and best-selling cookbook author and photographer.

It’s Wednesday with a 95F on the mercury making me wish this was a late Friday afternoon. With two more days of predicted temperatures beyond 100 degrees, I might as well begin my first post by fantasizing about granitas, popsicles and ice-creams and all other frozen treats overloaded with sugary infusions. As much as I love summer, I do dislike the accompanying heat waves which make me ever so lazy. Perhaps, writing about food will prove to be a useful distraction from focusing on the tribulations by fire this summer.
My goal is to use this space to write about my experiences with food, more so with what to do with my C.S.A box that arrives every Wednesday. I recently learned that as wonderful as the C.S.A concept is, it can be a challenge when certain veggies pop up on a weekly basis (lettuce being the main culprit). That being said, I am always excited about the unfamiliar fun things that arrive in my seasonal pantry – my C.S.A. Since, there are only two of us at home, it made sense to try out the half-share which still is more than enough for us.
In the next few weeks, I plan to get a bit creative and sift through my cookbooks to see what I can come up with. Perhaps, I will try to be adventurous and bake some bread (one of my biggest fears) or try my hand at infusing rustic recipes with exotic seasonings. Here’s to my future on cooking, writing and eating and telling you all about it.
